Should i get rid of him as a friend too?

He definitely has the potential to do a lot of harm I would advise you to get away from him ASAP, you don't want to be friend with someone that violent, completely cutting him off and the fact he didn't tell you the truth shows hes a jerk and he did kinda betray you, just get far far away from him, you def don't need him and would be safer if you completley end all relationships you have with him(both romantic and friendly).
