What to do if the heating engineer says my 3 year old boiler is a write off?

He came to fix a problem with the water going hot and cold, and when he left 2 days later the boiler no longer worked. He also managed to cause water damage to our house because he left without closing up the system and failed to mention that when we turned the tap on water would spurt out the boiler.
