Mirena iud what are your views???

After years on the pill I thought i would try this coil i had it fitted 5 days ago and i still fell very delicate in that area plus any intimacy is painfull,anyone experienced the same??Does it get better with time ? my dr says it is still settling in, she examined me today she said it is in the right possition and was all ok but why is it painfull having ect?
