NBA 2K11 My Player Help?

I've played about 20 games now in the season, after being traded to the Lakers after about 10 games. I am an athletics Point Guard, but my team seems to lose the majority of the time. We are usually up by the 3rd quarter but then lose the game. Is it just me or the AI screwing me over?
